I cannot for the life of me understand why I choose to get myself into certain situations -- especially since I know perfectly well the outcomes and the after math I have to deal with. Bored? Idiot.
I read Shutter Island about a week ago since I couldn't wait for the movie to come out. Oh lord it is SUCH a good story. The ending is so WTF?!! Took advantage of my innocent mind. The movie is going to be amazing. Or at least I sure hope it will be. The book is a MUST READ and is a page turner. I finished in pretty much a day. The book made me feel like I was insane for the rest of the day though. Definitely worth it.
SPOILER: In the end, Teddy is actually patient number 67 on the island and the doctors let him play out his fantasy in hopes of curing him. It's kind of like the Truman Show in that everyone is playing a part. He is actually Andrew Laeddis and he was the one that killed his wife -- who actually went insane and killed their 3 kids. Teddy couldn't deal with the thought of his wife being crazy so he made up a fantasy in his head and started to believe it.
